Tokyo Middle School had ended for the day and the weekend started for all students and teachers. The mall in downtown Tokyo city was packed and lively with many people and their families on a Friday afternoon. One person in particular was sitting by the outside fountain with a drink in hand and watching the people walk by.
"Whew, today has been a long day," the person thought while sitting by the fountain. "I'm surprised no one noticed I left by lunchtime and decided to go here." The person continued in their thoughts while sipping on their drink. Then a person was walking by the fountain looking at the fishes and noticed someone nearby. They turned their head behind them and a smile started to form. "Hey Kaoru! Is that you?!" The person yelled out and started to wave their hand. Kaoru raised her head and saw a person wave in her direction and her eyebrows arched up. "Who?" Kaoru squinted her eyes, "Wait... is that?" The person started to walk up and Kaoru knew who it was. "Butch!!" Kaoru stood up instantly, "What are you doing here?!" Butch kept his smile while walking up to Kaoru and stood face to face with her. "Uh...I am just browsing the mall and seeing what is here," Butch answered nervously.
Kaoru stared down Butch for any hint of mischief. Butch faced started to sweat and his eyes blinked rapidly. "Uhh... what?" Butch asked as nervously stepped back from Kaoru. "Hmm.. are you really here to browse the mall or do you want something else?" Kaoru asked as she closed in her stare. "Uh.." Butch spoke up, "Yes, I am here to be a mall dweller until it is time to leave. Yeah." Butch put his hand behind his head showing a half smile. Kaoru smirked, "Well in that case," she turned around to grab her drink and skateboard parked up near the fountain, "I am going to take my leave then. See ya." Kaoru began to walk a few feet until a voice rang out.
"Wait!" Butch yelled out to Kaoru with an outstretched hand. "Do you want to hang out for a bit in the mall?" Kaoru paused for a second and faced Butch. "Oh really now? Is that why you waved at me? Haha." Kaoru laughed as Butch started to blush a little bit. "Actually, no. I was looking for a gift to give to a family member and I happened to see you." Butch words reached Kaoru's ears and she stopped laughing as a surprised face appeared. "Oh! Well in that case, we can walk around then and see what we can find." Kaoru stated. "Really?" Butch's eyes lit up in surprise, "Yup, I can help you." Kaoru responded. "Okay, thanks! We can start from the side entrance and get some food first because I am hungry." Butch said.
Kaoru nodded in agreement and they walked to the food court located in the Tokyo City mall.
